The land of Abba and Europe has a dark side as well, Sweden's Incision right there in the middle of it. Combining technically brilliant musicianship with normal 'death' vocals makes this release something interesting even for non-deathheads. In other words, these guys rock hard, brutal, and clever at the same time. The production is layered brilliantly so that is possible to hear the music backing the grunting vocals. Not the most accessible music covering subjects of personal daemons, HP Lovecraft, and Satanism. Lyrically, it goes beyond the normal "death by the numbers." It could be called brainy death metal. Most death bores the crap out of me. This doesn't. If you have ever wanted to dip into the pungent sordid pit of death metal, then Incision is the band for you.

This is death metal by the numbers, no nuance or variety. It is boring as hell and does not grab at all. Hailing from Boston, these guys do very American "death by the numbers" and don't even create a stir. The album is filled with samples and programmed tempos, but they still don't manage anything interesting. Alas, this is just another bog standard death metal release. Instead of believing the hype, opt for Opeth or Incision and have a bit of brains with your death. Colour me under-whelmed. The fact the press release gives us details of how the band members have changed their names says it all.
Welcome to Darker than DarkĀ®, the home of the darker side of all of us. Expect the the unexpected, a bit of fiction, the reviews and rants of Marty and anyone else we plan to add to this place. So take a trip to the place where dark sides come to play, a den for the ominous meanderings of the multitudes.
